Honu Para Relay Team

Congratulations to our first ever Paralympic Relay team to successfully cross the English Channel. The 6 person relay landed in Audressells shortly after 7.30pm this evening completing their swim in an amazing time of 14h 56mins (unratified). They are swimming the Channel to create awareness of the everyday challenges a person with a disability faces. For those of you who haven't read the background to the team, here is some information:

The team consists of:

  • Enrique Perez (Mexican) has mobility disfunction
  • Amber Thomas (Canadian) a 2 time paralympian medallist who lost her sight in 2003
  • Enrique Guerrero (Mexican), a youth Para-Pan American Games in Columbia 2009. Amputated below the right knee
  • Guillermo Marro (Argentina), a 3 time paralympic medallist, born with mobility dysfunction
  • Pedro Rangel Hans (Mexican), 3 time paralympic Medallist with a Gold in the World Champs, SA 2006. Double leg amputee
  • Scott Patteson (Canada, 4 time paralympian in 3 different sports. Double leg amputee.
