Swim season change

Following a meeting between the Channel Swimming Association, Channel Crossing Association, Channel Swimming Pilotage Federation, Channel Swimming & Pilotage Services and Coastguards from France and the UK it has been agreed by all that the swim season will from now on be between 1st April and 31st October each year.

This is first and foremost to protect the safety and welfare of the swimmers and support craft involved. Swims outside of this period will not be accepted on the grounds of safety.

Shore to Shore

The relay team Shore to Shore successfully completed their relay swim yesterday 08.09.14 when they landed at Pte du riden at 22.04.

The 6 person team from Bournemouth consisted of 3 girls and 3 guys: Stuart Purcell, Simon Gater, William Collings-wells, Jacqui Couch, Chloe Dalton and Carol Fudge. They started their swim at 09.20 and had a total swim time of 12 hrs 44 mins (to be ratified). The team were on board Sea Leopard Charter, with pilot Stuart Gleeson.
