Thoughts are with Steven Munatones

Posted on: 14th May 2016

The CSA is sorry to learn that Steven Munatones suffered a heart attack yesterday. The Board and all our members are thinking about him and praying that he has a speedy and complete recovery. Our thoughts are also with his family at this difficult time.

Steven is the founder of the World Open Water Swimming Association, and is a member of the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame.

He served as the USA National Open Water Swimming Team coach at the 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2007 World Open Water Championships, and in 1982 was a world champion over 25 kilometers. In 2011, the International Swimming Hall of Fame gave him the Irving Davids/Captain Roger W. Wheeler Memorial Award.
