Theodore Yach - Swimming Legend

Posted on: 18th October 2018

It is with deepest regret, that we learn of the passing of Theodore Yach, who died peacefully in hospital yesterday. He was sixty years old.

Theodore, who swam the English Channel in 1996, was a veteran of 108 Robben Island swims of which he was the first and accomplished many other international distance swims.

Theodore was undergoing routine tests for an asthma complaint when he collapsed in hospital. He will be remembered as a passionate swimmer who loved motivating oher swimmers to achieve their dreams. He will be sadly missed my many open water swimmers.

He leaves his wife Michelle and two sons Daniel and David. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
