Coronavirus Update

Posted on: 17th March 2020

We know already that many of you are anxious about what is going to happen this year with your swims. We would like to tell you that everything will be fine when it comes to your swim but with the developing Coronavirus situation, we currently have absolutely no idea what restrictions the UK/French governments will impose on ourselves or any other visitor to the UK.

Currently the situation in the UK is changing daily. Pubs, clubs, theatres and restaurants have been advised to close and most airlines are grounding 75% of their fleet.

Additionally, we have no idea what further restrictions other countries governments will impose on their own residents.

As an Association, we are continuing as normal and hope that the swims continue to go ahead. If anyone is struggling with completing medicals due to their appointments being cancelled due to COVID-19 please let us know as soon as possible. If your swim does not go ahead we are more than happy to roll over any fees paid to another swim year. Please contact your pilots to find out where you stand should you or they become affected by the virus.

If this situation changes in anyway, we will let swimmers know but there are many weeks to go before the start of the swim season.

Listen to any advice given to you and please do not swim if you are feeling unwell or showing any of the symptoms of COVID-19.
