Swim season change

Following a meeting between the Channel Swimming Association, Channel Crossing Association, Channel Swimming Pilotage Federation, Channel Swimming & Pilotage Services and Coastguards from France and the UK it has been agreed by all that the swim season will from now on be between 1st April and 31st October each year.

This is first and foremost to protect the safety and welfare of the swimmers and support craft involved. Swims outside of this period will not be accepted on the grounds of safety.

Aquanuts

Congratulations to the 4 person relay team Aquanuts who have just completed their 2 way Channel Relay in an amazing time of 24hr 19mins (unratified). They started their swim at 05.20 on the 20th June from Samphire Hoe with their pilot Stuart Gleeson on board Sea Leopard. They completed their 1 way swim in France at 17.36 and then went on to swim home arriving back at Samphire Hoe at 05.39am this morning (21st June).

The 4 person relay from Bournemouth, UK consisted of Marc Newman, Gary Butcher, Marisa Aqua Nut and Simon Jacob. Huge Congrats to you all on a fantastic swim and a brilliant start to our 2014 swim season. Photo of the team below with their pilot Stuart Gleeson and crew.
